Objective: To provide high school graduates, post-secondary students or recent graduates with an opportunity to experience self-employment as a career option. The program is an orientation to the world of owning and running a business. It is done primarily on the job with mentoring provided by the business owner and business plan coaching provided by the Self Employment Program Coordinator.
Eligible Participants:
- Eligible employers are for profit/private sector businesses
- Youth between the ages of 17 – 29 years
Application Guidelines:
- Maximum of 12 weeks on-the-job training/work experience based on 35 hours per week
- Maximum of $10.25 per hour for wage subsidy
- Mandatory Employment Related Costs
