2019 Student Achievers Award Program

For Treaty #3 Students in Grade 9-12

Objective:  To promote and recognize the importance of completing high school, career goal planning and achievement in the school and community. Recognition awards are available in the following categories.

  • Excellence in Combined Academic (minimum of 70%) and Career Goals including Trades
  • Excellence in Combined Academics (minimum of 70%) and Sports
  • Return to School/Staying in School Award
  • Peer Helper Award – Giwiidookaage – You Help People (Students) to stay in school or help them in their studies
  • Excellence in Combined Academics (minimum of 70%) and Cultural and Language Preservation
  • Excellence in Combined Academics (minimum of 70%) and Community Volunteer/Involvement
  • Best Improved Student – Gigotaamigiz – You are a good worker (student)

 Eligible student applicants must select a category, submit a brief biography and complete the Student Application form.

In addition, award applicants are eligible to enter our Speech Contest for which the grand prize for the best speech is $400 to be delivered at the Recognition Banquet. Specific details for the speech contest are available

Eligible Students:

  • Treaty #3 students attending High School Grades 9-12 or Alternative Education Programs on a full time basis for the 2018/19 Academic year and;
  • must be under the age of 24

All student achievers must be prepared to attend a Shooniyaa Wa-Biitong sponsored event (location / dates to be determined). If you are an award winner, you will receive an invitation with further details.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS MARCH 8TH, 2019.
