FNMHF Trustee Opportunity ~ Application Deadline Extended to December 1st, 2018

The Government of Canada is seeking qualified individuals for appointment as trustees to the First Nations Market Housing Fund.

  • The First Nations Market Housing Fund became operational in 2008 in order to give First Nation people living on-reserve a better chance to become homeowners.
  • Trustees play a critical role in the success of the Fund. They are responsible for overseeing governance and practices, and for providing direction to achieve results.
  • New trustee appointments are part of ongoing work between the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) and the federal government to co-develop a First Nations Housing Strategy. The federal government is committed to exploring how current on-reserve housing programming, such as the First Nations Market Housing Fund, can be reformed to achieve improved and sustained outcomes and support the transition to First Nations’ care, control, and management of housing.
